Our History

Donald Moran started Toddler Food Partners in 2004 becasue of his concern for severe acute malnutrition (SAM) worldwide and his love of children. Don had applied his engineering skills on various projects as a volunteer and employee of Compatible Technology International (CTI). Based on his experience with Dr. Mark Manary and Manary’s team in Malawi who had been testing the effectiveness of a locally made Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and Dr. Patrica Wolff’s RUTF work in Haiti, Don decided to focus on providing equipment for the manufacture of RUTF in areas where SAM was prevalent. Initially, equipment was designed to be hand-operated or to use other renewable resources for use in remote areas. Subsequent developments have incorporated the use of electricity and generators.

We currently have projects in Haiti, India and Peru. We are in discussions with partners in Sierra Leone. In the past we have worked in Malawi and Bangladesh.
